Today is officially the start of the music component of SXSW. The Deli Magazine organized a showcase, set to open this Thursday 3/15, with 15 bands from Atlanta, Austin, Connecticut, Nashville, New York City, Philadelphia, Portland, and San Francisco. The audio spectrum includes rock, alternative folk and dance. The evening is Co-Presented by Pulp Lab, JLM (Joe Lambert Mastering), and Sneak Attack Media and Sponsored by PreSonus, 1percent, Deliradio.com, Women in Music, klick push, and VINYL District. There will be a Usnaps photo kiosk sponsored by MSN Postbox at the venue as well.
The two stage party is on Thursday March 15 at the Gypsy Lounge in the East Side!
The Deli Magazine writes, qwesome dancey bands on the outdoors stage will tempt the audience to some wild booty shakin’ action, while indoors fantastic rock and alternative folk acts will alternatively punch you and sooth your soul.
About Body Language:
With their glitzy synths, soulful licks and pretty vocal harmonies, Body Language channels a lifetime’s worth of music “fandom” into their own hybrid sound. Citing everyone from Bill Withers and The Beach Boys to Animal Collective as influences, the group is a fine example of the modern Brooklyn indie scene, with music-obsessed artists drawing inspira-tion from a variety of eclectic sources. (The Deli Magazine)
Reptar is a color-changing Godzilla who, depending on the occasion, is either out to save the world or destroy it. Similarly, the band Reptar is a force to be reckoned with, a furious dance party whirlwind fiasco which, depend-ing on your level of immersion, may either save your world or demolish it.
