Seven years ago during a barbecue, lighting and video artist Ricardo Rivera’s work appeared on our radar. He is the Co-Founder of the production house Klip Collective, who shared his project. It appeared to be a three-dimensional tape recorder that he created out of light projections. Mind blowing and appeared incredibly real! Since then, Rivera has gone on to win numerous honors with his Klip Collective partner and photographer and filmmaker Pier Nicola D’Amico, which include Mediaweek’s Media Plan of the Year and regional and local ADDY Awards. The Philadelphia-based firm developed and patented a video mapping system that they’ve named the Klip Effect™, a proprietary process which couples an experienced team of video artists with existing architectural features, for distortion-free, seamless integration of image and space. Their amazing and ingenious work can’t be emphasized enough. It is exciting to anticipate what Klip Collective has in store in 2012 and beyond. Expect big things from these luminaries!
We meld architecture, filmmaking, photography, graphic design, sculpture, and light design to create something completely cohesive. It’s not for the architecture, it’s of the architecture. - Ricardo Rivera
