Their exclusive lab in NoLita offers twelve aromatic sensations in bottles that can be personalized with a person’s name on the label. In addition to this collection of scents, each city has one site-specific tailored formula that is exclusively available in its respective retail location (November 2011 was a month where each store carried the full city line). For instance, New York has Tubereuse 40, Los Angeles has Musc 25, London has Poivre 25. These niche creations are a special blend of flora found in Grasse, France. Bergamot, rose, vetiver, neroli, orange blossom, patchouli, iris, ambrette, jasmine, labdanum, agarwood and sandalwood form their base ingredients.
The Brander
Le Labo prides itself with literally creating “fresh” sustainable fragrances. Each bottle is filled with carefully blended formulas that is composed by combining the essential oils and alcohol at the time of purchase. This process ensures that the formulization’s quality is controlled and its fabrication is dated for practicality and future nostalgia.
